help for a newbie

hey, i just bought the acer tablet a501 yesterday so its all still very new to me thought i would be quicker asking a couple of questions instead of endless searching the web for the answers,
my tablet has a slot for a sim card and a micro sd card, what is the best sim card (uk) to use in it? also iam going to turkey in 2 weeks, can i use my tablet abroad?
