How to Open img File on Android Device

i have downloaded firmware update that contains img file what can i use to open it on my tablet?

I found this page, not sure if it is fully accurate, but it seems like you need to get 7-zip or winrar on a PC to extract the .img file. Then transfer it to your tablet via USB per this guide: Polaroid Tablet Firmware Installation Guide
