Fresh off of shafting existing Huawei Ideos S7 owners of a scheduled Android 2.2 update, Huawei's Ideos S7 Slim has shown up in the FCC certification databae, with evidence for possibly AT&T support, like the S7 before it.

The S7 Slim is rumored to launch at about $300USD. It is expected to have a Qualcomm Cortex A8 single-core processor, Android 2.2, HDMI, capacitive touchscreen, and built-in support for 3G with a SIM card slot, not much more is known as this time.

From the manual, we know that the device comes with support for USB tethering or wifi as well as phone calls and SMS messanging. It also comes with the full Google Android market, which points to GPS features on this device as well. There is also a charging partner mentioned in the user manual, presumably to extend the usable battery life of the device. Other features listed as listed on Huawei's unfinished product page include bluetooth 2.1, 3.2MP camera (presumably on the back of the device), microSD slot, g-sensor, light sensor, and a 7-inch 800x480 screen.

Compared to the original S7, it is a slimmer device with a larger battery, a capacitive touchscreen, less physical buttons, no kickstand, possibly a minor processor upgrade, and an upgrade to Android 2.2. The docking mechanism may be different on the S7 Slim than the S7, but if we learned anything from the original S7, we may never end up seeing the dock.

this was purchased for me yesterday as a Mothers Day present. The phone was pulled at the last minute and now I can't get to the market... so it's not working and will be returned to the store shortly
