Insufficient storage available error

Can anyone suggest how to get rid of this problem in 4.2.2. Can't download or install anything now.
Yes I have tried removing apps, clearing all cache and checking if they are internal or external to try to move to external storage which has some success, but now I am only able to run less apps that I did when I first got it.
So there is an issue somewhere. Have read there is a hidden problem in 4.2.2 about this. Please advise any ideas. thanks team.

You should be able to use your file manager to look for stray folders/files and remove them. The system/cache cleaners typically leave some of those files hanging around. Also look closely at the downloads folder.

This is just a guess since you didn't provide much info about your tablet but it probably had 8GB of internal storage. Anything less than 16GB usually causes problems like this early on.
