iRobot 7" Mid Wifi + 3G tablet PC w/ Camera Android WIFI issue

I have rooted my original droid to make a hot spot. I am using the wireless tether app on the droid. My laptop recognizes the hot spot connection but the tab does not. Does anyone know why this may be? Thanks in advance!

I think it is because the tether programs create ad-hoc connections which was not supported on my irobot I discovered.
