Is it still possible to ROOT the Nook-Color?

I'd like to purchase a color nook after church today and, following the instruction in the sticky post "above", root it. Is it still possible to Root the color nook?

I read that that ability was curtailed and now the Color Nook can no longer be rooted anymore.

I'd appreciate any information. Thank you, George b

Agreed, totally a rumor. Bought my wife one a couple weeks ago, rooted it the same day.

short answer: yes you can still root and forever

longer answer: The Nook Color will be able to be rooted as long as b&n continues using Android software.
