need a tablet that can run GM Global Diagnostic System 2 (GDS 2)

looking for something a little bit more mobile than my laptop to use at work with ​

If it runs on your laptop, I dont think you have any options.

Ipads run on IOS and everything else runs on Android.

A netbook might be an option, though.
