New to the Tablet Gig

I am a newbie so to speak in the land of tablets, problem one I thought I bought an ereader, not knowing that it does everything. Having bought the SD card and thinking that I could actually download movies and try to get rid of some of the applications that came with the next6. Wow was I wrong I am scared to death of this new toy. any help would be appreciated.
