hey i just got a notification for new updates... i updated it twice but no changes are to be observed by me? any suggestions?

What version were you running? Gingerbread or Honeycomb? When was your last update?

If this is not the update that adds parental control, then you could be one of the first of a new release.

Go to Settings> About Tablet Is your Software Version: VIA Plus 2.1 and Build Number 2.3.64

If it is you just got the Parental Control option added.

FWIW I chatted with a Vizio tech today and they said there are currently no plans to update the VTAB1008 to ICS or JB.

Not surprising. Then again techs don't always get the latest info on things like that. I would expect to start hearing things about their next tablet before getting news of an update, if they ever decide to at all.

HC works great. Maybe ICS, JB, or KLP may not work on this hardware architecture.
