Has anybody tried Voodoo OTA RootKeeper? https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper

You have to have root first but it is supposed to allow you to keep root after an over the air update. I have installed it and done the backup BUT HAVE NOT ALLOWED AN OTA UPDATE TO .57

What are the chances it will work properly on the Vizio? Notes say it does not work on Samsung phones updated via KIES or Odin.

I am tempted to but since it is my daughter's and I have already had to take two of them back because of the Micro USB port I am not inclined to.

This App worked great after an OTA upgrade on my Droid Razr. Anybody know what else is in .57 beside disabling root that would make the upgrade worthwhile? Are there any bug fixes or feature enhancements?

I believe all the .57 update did was to block root. I have not seen any difference between the two versions.

the ota app does not work! i backed up my tablet which is .56. rolled all my info to my wifes which is .57 and nada. it said su restored. but did nothing. still wasnt su powers or rooted. so fyi doesnt work on our device.

i didnt loose root. hers came with .57 i just tried to restore heres with my backup lol. im still rooted. just released a mod in fact.
