Samsung Tab 3 Device Encryption....

With all the news concerning the mass surveillance of US Citizens, I was wondering if anyone knows about the "device encryption" feature offered on the Samsung Tab 3, o/s version 4.2.2.

I am a strong believer in privacy, especially privacy from the Government, as they are now attempting to get the major companies to make and provide them with Master Encryption Keys; not to mention the recent and very questionable demise of Truecrypt.

I would appreciate any information provided. Thanks in advance!!

Encrypting and Android device will protect the data stored on the device but won't do all that much for privacy. IMO it is of limited value unless you have done something bad enough to get the government on your case.
