Tablet won't connect to Internet

just received the 7inch Droid tablet
When I get past the calibration and initial setup, it prompts me to put in google account info, when I do, the device immediately tries to connect to the Internet, but it can't because, it wont allow me to turn on wireless or detect wireless networks. I've connnected the usb to the computer ...nothing...

How do I get this device connected to the Internet to function correctly...is there a go around...??

Any suggestions would be great

you have to skip the initial setup and turn on wifi. then you should be able to restart it by adding your google account via settings -> accounts
