Unable to connect to WiFi

All of a sudden I am unable to scan for networks on my Google Android tablet. It just started happening and up to now it's been great! Everytime I switch on Wi-Fi, it starts scanning, then stops with the message:Unable to scan for networks. Then unchecks the Wifi button shutting off wifi. I have absolutely no idea why. Wi-Fi is definitely working on everything else. Basically it won't even find any Wi-Fi signal in my area at all.
Any help is most appreciated.
I have a WonderMedia China knockoff Android 2.2

Try resetting your wifi router by turning it off for 10 seconds then back on.

I connect via w free wifi service in my condo complex. I have no way of D/C anything, as it not near me. Any other ideas? I think it might be the tablet and not the service. Prior to shutting down it scanned for about 10 local hotspots, but not now.

This too happened to me few times. First I went to couple of other places with WIFI and made sure it is not the Tablet, then I REFLASHED. Worked OK eversince. Good luck.
