this is a good thing maybe, especially since while i LOVE my thunderbolt for its speed, it is extremely disappointing in its battery life. What good is 4g if you can only use it for 2 hours???

EDIT - So I spent almost an hour on the phone with the Zach, the B2B Upper Midwest Sales Manager for Verizon last night and have some updates, nothing earth shattering but still nice to hear from them. They are working directly with HTC on the issue of battery life for the 4G devices, and are working specifically on the problem of increased battery drain in fringe areas when the devices are constantly switching between 3g and 4g. They are also looking at the problems with getting GPS lock and the additional drain there. Bottom line for me, it was nice to hear a VZW person saying that they weren't happy either and were honestly trying to get it better instead of asking me if I was running Advanced Task Killer and maybe that would help.

They also acknowledged that while being first to a great 4G network was all well and good, VZW knows the competition offers similar services and if they don't get these issues resolved AND improve communication of problems (including things like national outages...), there was no reason for people to stick with Verizon.

Overall was a good conversation with someone that seems to actually understand what the issues were and could provide better specifics on what was being done instead of the standard "we are working on it."
