You can hardly run an android device without a google account, so why not just have your Gmail account pick up your Yahoo mail and also your contacts. (see settings for Gmail).
It can import all your old mail, and your contacts.
It can also pop your Yahoo mail so that you can continue to use that email address for existing contacts.
