try kingo android root.... at www.kingoapp.com
have to have computer but i have successfully rooted and verified... and i do own this tab... mine is running 4.2.2 after some help.. not sure if this app will work for the kitkat upgrade as i didnt find til after...
this app will not brick your device which is a major plus... i had bootlooped mine already and fixed before root ;-)
