Asus tablet stuck on update loop...

So I just got a new Asus Memo Pad 7 HD, to replace my old, broken Toshiba Thrive. I like it a lot, as it's smaller, less cumbersome, seems to have excellent battery life, and a much better speaker. However, I'm now unable to use it.

Last night, I got a notification about a firmware update. I downloaded the data, and ran an install. Two hours later, It was still on the "Installing System update" screen, with a bar that would fill up, flicker out, and then start filling again. After fiddling with it, I left it to do its thing overnight. It is still on the same screen, even now, so I turned it off completely. I know you can do a factory reset by holding the power button and up on the volume control, but it doesn't respond to that. It just goes back to the same screen, over and over.

Is there any way I can fix this? Or do I need to return this to Best Buy?
