Hi, I have a two month old agptek android tablet and the charging plug solder joints have broken. Is there any way to get this repaired? I hate to loose everything on the tablet!!!

Thank you,
B

If the solder joints are broken but the jack itself is still sound, all you need is a 15W or 30W soldering iron, some solder, a steady hand, and about a half hour of your time. Components for these tablets are wave soldered to the board, and sometimes not enough solder is applied to make a secure attachment. Adding some extra solder to each pad will prevent the jack from popping off the board.

I personally could do the job, having done it once already for my roommate's Coby, but I'm about 2,000 miles away from you and haven't yet mastered the art of digitizing myself and beaming into your home. ;)

Thanks. The jack is still sound so I will try to repair it myself....I know what you mean about digitizing; I can't wait for transporters to become available!
