there is no 8025 lol so the 8024 and 8125 are the same? only diff android versions. does this mean 7024 mods work on the 8125?

if its coby you wish, then ( IMHO ) its the 7022 strictly because of the cyanogenmod backup & restore. coby is being a REAL turd with firmware, please consider a different brand. that way you do not propagate bad/crappy support ( by them ) . . .

While they use the same case design, the cpu is different. So the mods will not work.

The mod for telechips 7015,7016 and 7022 might work.

The nook color is an excellent choice. It's very easy to customize and has a huge support base. The only problem I can see is it doesn't have a webcam or GPS, but you really can't use the webcam on most of the Coby tablets anyway and most tablets under $300 don't come with GPS (including the Coby tablets).

If I could have my choice, I would probably just find a used Nexus S smart phone and just use that as a tablet. You could probably snatch one up for about $250 (the same price as a new Nook Color) and it comes with every feature you would ever need including a working webcam, bluetooth, and GPS. Plus you can fit it in your pocket!

edit: Never mind on the Nexus S. It doesn't have HDMI out, which is a deal breaker for me.

I have recently bought a coby MID8025 tablet and I would like to use apps like skype. I have tried to download from google market and I couldn't.

After instaling com.android.vending.apk and GoogleServicesFramework in order to access the market and download the aforementioned app I got an error.

Could you please tell me what shall I do.

8025 or 8125? If it's a 8125, look for threads about it or 7022, should work.

Also be aware that some units may have a defective firmware with no working restore! It´s one of the new models, I think it's 8125.
