Email setup problem on a100 and charter

Does anyone know how to setup email on their acer a100 from charter.net? I can get the pop3 side to work but the smtp side always fails with can't communicate with the outgoing server. It doesn't ask for a port number on the pop side but the smtp side wants a port number. My outlook email on windows uses port 25 for the smtp side but it doesn't work on android.
Has anyone setup email to charter communications on their acer a100?

I was able to setup my A500 rather quickly using the stock email app.

Incomming: mobile.charter.net SSL
Outgoing: mobile.charter.net SSL port 587
