Have i ruined my nook color

we followed the instructions to the t and now whenn the nc starts up it goes to a screen that has an upside down u in the middle and on the bottom it says
"Contains Reader Mobile Technology by Adobe Systems Incorporated"

and thats all folks. the sd card looked exactily like the one in the example before we tried.
