Just received brand new Android 7" Tablet, 2.2 quad band.

I have turned on WIFI and chosen to add a WIFI network

I have entered my SSID No. and my WEP: password, but I get the message "unable to scan for networks" I do not know what to do and I cannot download Apps, bgrowse or read email until I have successfully enabled the wifi or something else that I am not aware of.

Hi RLL, congratulations on your new tablet and welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us here at Android tablets. It sounds as though you've set your router to hide your SSID, if so change that to display it. Then, turn on the tablet and turn on the WiFi. A list of the SSIDs within range of your tablet should be displayed, find the one for your router and tap on it. You should then be prompted for your logon information. That should do it.

BTW Hiding your SSID provides roughly the same security as hiding your key under the doormat, so don't worry about displaying it.
