Rooting Help

I've tried repeatedly to root my new A500, and the GingerBreak just keeps spinning. I have followed the Androidfc directions to the best of my ability. Any help out there?

well this is the procedure i followed with gingerbreak

below is the walkthrough of how to root this device

1. make sure usb debugging is turned on and unknown sources is selected
2. have a micro sd card inserted and turn the tablet on portrait and lock it with the switch to fix it in portrait
3. download and execute the attached apk. (i had to download from my comp and transfer to the tablet for it to work)
4. once the apk is installed run the root procedure within the app which was installed
5. wait and you will receive full root access

did you lock it in portrait mode switch next to volume button ?

After my tablet was updated to 3.1, I was not able to get gingerbreak to work. But using the rooting tool from this thread worked for me.

Is it safe to do the 3.1 to 3.2 upgrade AFTER rooting? I was holding off on the 3.2 upgrade until I got rooted.

If you have 3.1 rooted, I recommend you flash to a 3.2 ROM, with superuser preinstalled, check out this ROM ->http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...6738-thor-a500-rom-v14-2-android-3-2-1-a.html
