What is this?

I just tried the 3588 OTA update and it failed. I figured maybe I should set up my e-mail account first. As I was trying to proceed it said that the certificate was not trusted. I then went to check the folders on internal sd card and there sat an update zip icon. I then extracted it "here". Is this because the first thing I did was download the Flash update? Does any of this sound familiar? There is also an update folder as well as a recovery + all the usual DCIM etc. When I extracted the zip file it downloaded all the stuff from it but the zip icon remains.I went ahead and did a factory reset and it said it couldnt find files and it was using busybox. Does this mean it was pre-owned? Now it's doing initial set up....something is fishy! It came fro DQ store on Amazon.
