Applications recognizing SD Card

How do I get a app to search a particular SD Card. I have an internal SD card (called SD card by looking through Astro) and my external card is called SD1 Card.
I want the app to look for files on SD1 but it checks the internal card only.

some apps only check internal memory what app are you talking about
