I found USA wholesaler cheapest for the 10" Coby is $254 and the 8" $187 The 7026 $169. Looks like the 8" and 10" have power charging stands, blue amber LED for the hardware front facing buttons. Not bad. I might end up with 8" for $187 price. I going to keep close eye on that site until they come in with Android OS 2.3.
I don't see why they would bother with 2.3 now that 3.0 is available and meant for tablets. 2.3 is just another phone-oriented version that would take too much trouble to port to a tablet vs skipping from the already ported 2.2 to 3.0. Even so, I suspect these models will not move beyond 2.2 since adopting 3.0 probably takes more effort than Coby would be willing to expend to stay within its cost/price structure. Look at all the cheap tablets still being sold with 2.1.

But maybe they will pleasantly surprise me...

The new prices for the tablets are too much for me. They need to bring it down back to the $176 price tag.

Did anyone notice that the pages for some of the new tablets have been removed?!!?

Hope this isn't a bad thing.

BTW, I take it they've been delayed. Anyone have an idea of release date?

Yes, I noticed all MIDXX25 and MIDXX26 models have been removed.

A video at
shows a reporter reviewing a "MID7025" at the Coby CES Las Vegas booth . During the review, he states it's running Android 2.2 and when he brings up the specs they verify it. IMHO that makes it a MID7024 he was looking at, not a MID7025. Makes me wonder if Coby ever really had a working MID7025.

Well, that was pretty obvious.

WHY though? Any informtion?

Because all of the tablets are now 2.2.

And I'm kind of torn between they Kyros 10.1" and whether or not I should wait for the Galayx Tab 10.1".

I like the Toshiba tablet but I think that will be way out of my budget, and maybe the Galaxy Tab 10.1" too.

Any info on why the Coby tablets are taking so long?

My first thought was 2.3 wasn't working well for the XX25 models so Coby with stock on hand hurriedly pushed out the XX24 models with 2.2. I know I jumped on the XX24 model figuring that when the XX25 did come out I'd do a firmware update to 2.3. Now I'm thinking that with rumors of the XX25 sales just around the corner the sales of the XX24 models were way down. So perhaps Coby pulled the XX25 to boost the XX24 sales. Or 2.3 just never became usable and they are working on 3.0
