Can the 7.0 2 Be Rooted?

Thinking of taking my $189 Vizio 1008 back to CostCo and grabbing a GT2 7.0 for $239. I was really annoyed at how Vizio prevented rooting. What can I expect in that area with the GT2?

From what I have heard, Samsung's are pretty easy to root.

Looks pretty simple from the few links I looked at. Basically, you can push CWM recovery via ADB using Odin, then flash a rooted ROM.

Why would I want to root it? What advantages are there?

Rooting my Nook was obvious, but why the Tab 2.7?

Same question from me as well. I rooted my Nook Color and the reason was obvious, it had the B&N front end that prevented the user from accessing and taking advantage of Android. But with the SGT 2 (and most other full Android tablets) the access is already there.
