Can't Unbrick Nook Color

I'm trying to wipe clean my Nook Color. It was rooted under 1.2 but that root was broken by the 1.3 update. I tried to install CyanogenMod 7 and the files showed as having updated, but the NC would not boot up past the blue "Android" word. Now I'm trying to just wipe the device clean to reinstall a Stock 1.2 zip. Using the CWM bootable SD, I can reformat the system, but I get the message "error - cannot reformat data" when I try to reformat data. When I power up the NC, I get to the Nook Color splash screen from Nook Color Devs and it stays there. Any suggestions on how I can get this NC clean and ready to reinstall 1.2? Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you leave the sd card in? If so it may be trying to boot off of that. Take it out and reboot to see if this does not get you past that screen.

Edit* - From what I have seen and read, this device is unbrickable....Don't panic. Redo your steps.
