Chinese Lettering On Keyboard?

Ok, just got my Haipad M701-R and went straight to (settings) for setting up language and keyboard, set locale to English (US) but I have chinese letters on the keyboard when I Google search. Did I miss something in the settings tab?

Long press on the text input field and then select input option when the menu comes up. Then select android keyboard. I struggled with this at first too.
