I'm not even sure how to ask this without be laughed off this site. I have looked but couldn't find a basic root for dummies or coby for dummies. Here it goes! I'd love to try to root my coby 8042 and I am wise enough to want to back up the rom, which I am taking to be like the bios. Am I wrong, I did find some posts that mentioned changing some lines around so I could basically install stuff to my 16sd card, which I can not as of now. I can not find anything like a my computer where I can hunt for the file. I can not find any app that says I can back up my rom. I am so freaking lost it isn't even funny and here I thought it would be easy to use, like a mini pc. I do not even have a smart phone.
