External mass usb starage for Acer tab a500

Why doesn't an external USB drive not get recognised...have formated this to Fat32 and still no luck....any ideas

Don't know if USB workday on any hc roms. I know USB doesn't work with hc for viewsonic gtablet

It works for the toshiba Thrive. There is a Toshiba thrive ROM ported to the Acer Iconia tab where usb host works.
