Faulty android tablet

Hi,
We've been given a 7" andriod tablet to factory reset, as the owner has forgotten their email address and tried too many patterns.
The tablet is running a very old version of of andriod and I can get as far as seeing this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G-zGeRL92...FM/s1600/Android+Factory+Reset+Tutorial+2.jpg which should then show the utility options.

Can anyone confirm how to initiate a factory reset from here?

Try pressing the back button, or home button to get options, once you see options you want to delete data.

Thanks for your help Spider.
There are three buttons total, the volume up / down and power button.
Unfortunately none of them seem to do anything. I've held them all down for a time without effect (obviously the power button turns it off after a time)

When I boot normally, the back and options menu don't allow me to do anything. I can't go to camera or add it to wi fi etc.

Did you try the buttons after getting the Android on his back?

Thanks Spider and yes I did, all three buttons, a variety of sequences and holding each for 10s.
