Google Nexus 1st generation 16gb or Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

I'm looking for a little advice as to which tablet to buy for my daughter for Christmas

Here are the two I've short-listed:

Buy Google Nexus 7 - 16GB at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Tablets.

and

SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 3 7" WiFi Tablet - 8 GB, White Deals | Pcworld

Can't decide which is best?????????

For a kid, flip a coin. for me, nexus cause of the software updates on nexus devices. Does the galaxy tab have a compass (like i said, for me the nexus).

No contest. Nexus 7 is the clear winner. Hands down! Unless you need an MSD port, in which case, I would suggest that you consider the Asus MeMO Pad HD 7, which also has a rear camera. And, both have better displays than the Samsung.
