Hello everyone,

I'm a hard core desktop user from 8 bits and late 70's era but lately I've been thinking of something to provide computing between my mp3 player and computer that I can carry in a pouch and use on train trips and sit on a holder beside my bed.

But Wow, I thought this would be simple...there is a stack of research to do.

Android tablets are anything but hassle free right now, but you can't beat the price. Also if you like Android, there's no other way.

What type of computing are you looking for?

Welcome, there are a lot of great starting tablets out there but one thing you might want to look at is one that has 3g capabilities sense your going to want to use it on a train.
