Hi, Thomson MID1003 Battery not charging

Hi everyone, so I bought the Thomson MID1003 online and received it very quickly. I began charging it and 5 hours later it has not charged but shows the battery completely depleted. So I'm guessing I have to send the tablet back? Or if someone else knows a different solution I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Ngaeroa.
