I every one, I hope someone here could help me, I bought a x220 Flytouch 2 10", and I'm trying to install fonts for extensive language support and I don't have super user access, how can I root the tablet?

Thank you in advance

i heard you need to flash the rom to universal android 1.6 beta 5 but i do not know how to flash the rom...i've been trying to figure it out but no luck so far.

have you tried all of the simple ways like z4root apk and universal androot apk?

i heard there is problem with z4root and i'm trying on universal androot i rename to update.zip and put it on root of my sd card and it kept failing i tried update.zip and update.zip.apk to try both and they both failed.
i don't know what i'm doing wrong here.

I just tried rooting with UniversalAndroot-1.6.2-beta5 and it failed. I have used Z4root temporary root many times on the flytouch2 and a 4GB Gpad G10 without problem. The only time I had a problem with Z4root was with the unroot function (which is only used after permanently rooting; a reboot removes the temporary root). Although I would never try the unroot again, I think the Z4root permanent and temporary root functions work and haven't caused me any problems.

Hi i am am completely new to the androids however have been looking at them for a a while and want to get a flytouch 2 similar to the one in the ebay link below;

10.2" ePad FlyTouch2 Android 2.1 WiFi GPS Camera Tablet (eBay item 150521760073 end time 18-Dec-10 13:11:56 AEDST) : Computers

Will the universalandroot or z4root apps root this device ? Also will it permanently root it or will it just be temporary ?

Also is the below pad able to be 'rooted' as well ?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Android-2-2-...70661416254?pt=US_Tablets&hash=item3f04ad753e

Sorry for all the questions but i am just unsure with this.

i have FT2 and yes i succeed to rooted the FT2 with universal android 1.6 beta5. i first did the soft root then apply the perm. root than it worked.

So just to confirm. While you had the O/S temporarily rooted you then applied the permanent root as well? Also are you able to remove the permanent root once installed ?

Where could I get the Z4root app?

Many thanks,
Richardo
