Here's another one (which I bought last week) Model TouchPad II (TR718D), Android Version 2.1, Firmware Version v1.02.11-2010.12.17_English. Kernal 2.6.25, Bulid V0.18.Eclair.English.R.zmg.20101112.142908. It has a very good resistive screen. It looks identical to the Wopad TB7001

Interestingly no GMail or Market. I'm confused by the fact that it reports Cell standby using the majority or the battery, and Goggle Maps pins my location down to within 30 meters or so, but no SIM slot. How does it do that ? Also there is no "contacts" app in the appdrawer and Both Beautiful Widgets and Fancy Widgets look crap on the stock launcher. I installed LauncherPro and the whole thing is much more responsive, with Fancy and Beautiful widgets both working fine. Also, the Launcherpro link to my contacts brings up the lot all synched with Google !!

I'd be interested if anyone has got GMail or the Market working on this device.

Other random items I've found thus far...
The default system tools are linked to /system/bin/toolbox , however busybox v1.11.1 sits right along side, unlinked to anything; neither are SUID. :(

There doesn't seem to be an accessible internal SD card (except for installing apps?). Once I get an SD card to put in this device I'll link to the busybox binary from there and redefine the path. That should make hacking around on the filesystem less of a head basher! (typing commands such as ls | busybox grep -v ^[0-9] every-freakin-time is getting rough)

Rooting:
A no-go thus far. SuperOneClick fails. z4root works, but looses root on reboot, and the root shell option simply causes the acore to crash repeatedly, making the device unusable. I can get a root shell through ADB, but no write access to the FS; and no SU executable.

I have the ASK 731SP 3G SmartPad, cannot find it in the list. It has a capacitive 7" display (made by Sharp, apparently) and looks very much like the Wopad CT7001 (clone?). Despite the name, it has no 3G capabilities but is said to support 3G modems.

Android 2.1
Firmware v1.02.11-2010.12.16_English
Kernel version: 2.6.25
Build number: V0.18.ECLAIR.English.C.zmg.20101112.142908

Manufacture Part# HRA702-BL or MD701

I bought a 100 dollar rockchip last week--I may have to buy another because I am stuck in android.process.acore loop.

I loved this tablet and will not really mind buying another one once I save some money.
