The bootloader contains instructions to boot the operating system. For the NOOKcolor, if there's a bootable ROM on the SDcard it boots from there otherwise from the one in the tablet storage.

hi vampirefo, this is great! and you say there "Yes this method can be used by any android." is this absolute? hi Spider, thanks for the info and move. now from my reading elsewhere it seems booting SDcard is possible but booting from USB is not possible. I will be giving your tutorial a try hopefully soon vampirefo. thanks guys!
