received my onda vi40 yesterday from androindinabox good seller kept me informed all the way answered all my emails

anyway want some advise as which firmware and what apps etc to get the most out of of it

I've tried a few firmware versions, it depends what you want really the best I have found is vanilla V1.1 http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/onda-tablet-forum/39011-onda-vi40-v3-vanilla-1-1-firmware.html it has a good mix of features and play store access.

I've tried TNT and Cyanogen CM9, both are good. CM9 has USB audio out which is useful if you want to output through a DAC.

Try Astro file manager. It's free and gives you an option to back up your apps on the start page.
