Google and Motorola intend to blitz the competition with their newly introduced Android Honecomb Xoom tablet. They expect to ship between 700,000 and 800,000 tablets in the first quarter alone. They even suspect they may have orders up to the 1 Million mark during Q1. That's some pretty high estimates, but considering how impressive the newly crowned, "Best Gadget and Tablet" of CES is, I don't think they are being overly confident. Those estimates seem right on target. How many of you guys are planning on getting the Motorola Xoom?

Do you have to pay for a 3G data plan for the Xoom? If so, it's an easy decision for me not to get it.

Wi-fi / no contract and for up to $450 only, so I'm guessing not likely. I'll probably wait for the price wars (if any) to develop a little.

There are many many many! 7inch tablets out there. Go get the Galaxy, it'll get Honeycomb soon.

As long as there is no contract on this thing then I will get it. Pretty much don't care about the price lol. I'll snap it off for $600

Verizon just dropped it's Galaxy Tab to $500 off contract.
Sprint also has Tab for $300 on contract.

So this means that this Tab is going to be at least $600 wifi only I reckon. Probably $800 for 3G off contract.

Thoughts?

$800 for 3G is ridiculous... Why would anyone oay that kind of money for another Chinese product thats probably built on the same assemble line ad the "cheap" units we can now get? I would pay up to $400 for 3g - no more.

I think Motorola is expecting too damn much out of the tablet market. It is actually showing signs of weakening.

It's that the top of the line Ipad selling for? Or at least when it first came out. Perhaps my guess of $800 may be too much, but $400 will not be the price. 7" Galaxy Tab is $500 at the moment.
