Need some clarification on features and rooting

Hi all,

Found this forum from googling about rooting the Kyros.

I've been trying to understand if rooting means that I can install Android 2.2, or, since its an embedded device, am I stuck with 2.1 ?

This line from wikipedia has me really intrigued:

It also allows for newer versions of Android not supplied by the original device manufacturer.

Is that accurate about the Kyros ?

Also, does it support ad hoc connections ?

Thanks

There is some work being done on updating the kyros by myself and others. Cyanogenmod has an version for the tablet, but I don't think anyone had finished a kernel update yet

if you can wait for a tablet running gingerbread (2.3) you might as well just wait for a tablet running honeycomb because honeycomb is suppose to be even better and actually made for tablets

True I guess. Depends on the price. If the 2.3 is cheaper I'll go for that.

Also, still waiting for clarification on ad hoc connections.

Thanks
