Newbie to the forum and Android

Hi

I'm a 60 y/o retired engineer who, after successfully rooting my own Nook Color, proceeded to brick the Nook I bought for my wife. It seems the software that rooted the 1.1 system, which I did for my device, does not work on the 1.2 system that came with my wife's device. So I'm learning as fast as this old man can. Other stuff about me is I live in the Florida Panhandle, that small part of Florida that is on Central time, sometimes called either the Redneck Riviera or Lower Alabama.
