hi,I am new to android and purchased a tablet with 8gb storage and I don't have much storage space for apps.
I can install upto a 32gb micro sd card and I was thinking about buying one for the additional space to move apps and games to the sd card but was wondering if this can be done without rooting the device?
If it can be done I was also wondering if the apps or games on the sd card will not perform aswell due to not running off the internal memory?
Any help appreciated.

The problem you will have, depending on your version of Android, is that most won't allow moving apps to the microSD card and even then it's app specific. This is also a common issue with tablets that only have 8GB of internal storage, If the tablet has Lollipop, (5.x) on it Google has made a change that may allow some apps to be moved.

Thank you.
the version I have installed is KitKat 4.4.2.
Would rooting the tablet allow for the movement of apps to SD?
Could you also tell me if it is possible to upgrade Android OS without rooting or do you have to wait on your tablet manufacturer to update the OS?
