removeing items from recent button

I was wondring if there is a way to remove items in the recent tab button?
I like this but would like to get rid of not used or incorrect app.
The only way I have found is to power off and back on.
I have tab on for many days and that list gets long.

Have you tried Android Assist app, it works well for cleaning up cpu usage and also has an app force close feature.

well this app is same as others but does not touch the Honeycomb 3.1 recent list
