Okay, you still have to root your phone. And it's still in beta and doesn't claim to support all phones.

The newest version supports several modes other than ad hoc networking. Netd (master) is recognised by my 7024 and works fine for me. Reboots my phone when I stop tethering, LOL, I can live with that.

Actually it doesn't "fix" the Kyros problem, it just creates a real network (infrastructure mode) in your phone, so Kyros tablet can connect to it.

thats kinda what I was thinking.. I initially read wifi tethering and thought "why would you want wifi tether their laptop to your Kyros? Isnt it already connected to a wifi to even work?" I am using that same apk on my samsung Captivate running Phoenix Rom and it works great as a mobile AP for my Kyros.

True, it doesn't fix it. But it does allow you to tether to phones without having to play games with scripts and config files. You still have to root 'something', but at least you only have to root your phone (which you would have to do anyway) and install the app. Just saves a step or two.
Just call me lazy...
