Tethering question

I have a 3g Samsung Intercept phone with android 2.2 OS, I just purchased a Android 8650 Tablet with the same Android 2.2 OS. Can I tether from my phone to tablet and use the 3g internet service from phone? Kinda new to all of this, any help?

If your phone allows tethering, yes (and most phones do)... however, without rooting your phone tethering will cost you. Unfortunately, there's not much more I can say as the tethering process can be differant between phones and I do not know your model. As far as the tablet side of things, as long as it can connect to a wireless network, they it should have no problems connecting to your phone, as tethering is simply turning your phone into a wireless router.
