people who buy the new Aldi tab will discover that the mini-USB cable it comes with is slightly longer than standard. So all your existing adaptors won't work.

Well armed with a sacrifical mini-USB purchased off eBay for $2 I went to work with my Dremel
so with a little creative trimming you can have a functional mini-USB to regular USB (or whatever you wanted) with a little work. I carefully trimmed off about 2mm.
HINT: don't use an angle grinder and go at it carefully with the small cutting wheel.
