These cheap plastic screens really scuff up

It doesn't effect viability much but you'll notice the drag on your fingernail. I used some nail polish remover followed by some alcohol then some buffing. It smoothed things a bit. Turn it off and lay it flat. Keep fluid away from the edge.

Mine is still as smooth as when I bought almost three weeks ago. Been using it alot too. But mainly using the stylus rather than my finger or finger nail.

I'm too lazy to do that. Guess you should always use a screen protector. For the glass ones cuz they're expensive and for the cheap ones because they're plastic. Mine seems reasonably smooth now. Just thought I'd let people know that you won't damage these with fluids. Toothpaste would probably be another matter.

Yeah, a screen protector wouldnt hurt either.

I keep meaning to buy one, but haven't done it yet. I am guessing that ones for the nook color would fit?

Actully,I think the buffing does most of the smoothing. The alchohol cleans and maybe melts the plastic a bit. Might try some Armorall.
