Webcam and Herotab X5A

I'm thinking of getting the Herotab X5A from Merimobiles, but I have one question. Can I plug a webcam or similar device in to the USB port and use that for a QR Barcode reader app like Barcode Scanner?

I am going to guess no since you would need drivers installed for the webcam to work. That isn't 100% so maybe someone can let us know for sure but that is just based on what I have read.

Maybe I could install the drivers for one that's compatable with Linux after its rooted.
