What can the terminal app do

I was wondering what the terminal app could do (i think its called terminal. whatever is like cmd). Can you preform windows functions such as shutdown -i to remotely shutdown a computer? could someone please help me out =D
and sory if this is the wrong forum, or has already been discussed.

I don't think you can do that specific command but you can move files around. Which is kind of boring.

Yeah it would. I would definitely buy a terminal app if they could do that.
